Why it’s So Important to Develop Your Business Niche

When we create a new business, it’s because we see a problem that we can solve for someone. So where did that idea come from? Why did you decide this was the problem you wanted to solve? And most importantly, what have you learned from personal experience that brought you to the idea?

A personal experience or talent you have can be added to what you offer, turning something available anywhere, into something scarce.

When you add something unique to your business or tell them something personal about you that is unlike others offering the same product, it makes working with you a lot more attractive.

For example, let’s use something simple, like babysitting. Let’s say you had the choice to hire a babysitter who had three younger siblings, or hiring one that was exactly the same age as the other sitter and had the same ability, except they didn’t have any siblings. Wouldn’t you be likely to choose the one who has been around younger children most of their life? This is the kind of thing I’m talking about.

With a little investigation, you may find you have a unique ability to provide something others can’t, which could be of high value to them. You may not consider it to be something valuable, but others do. It may be something you don’t even notice.

So take some time to think about what you know how to do, create, or provide that you can offer to your customers as an additional perk. Making this one small addition to your content showing how you’re different from others could blow your competition out of the water.
